Early childhood education services (daycare services) support the growth and well-being of children under school age and their families. All children have a subjective right to early childhood education and care (ECEC).
Toholampi’s early education services consists of a daycare center, family daycare and open daycare. Toholampi daycare center Sateenkaari provides full-day, half-day and half-week care for children. The daycare center is open on weekdays between 6:30 – 17:00.
A child that needs care in the evenings, nights and/or weekends due to their parents’ work schedule is entitled to non-standard hours childcare. This care will be scheduled based on the family’s needs. Care will be provided in the mornings before 6:30 and the evenings after 17:00, as well as during the weekends, if both parents are working at the same time, or for single-parent households.
Family daycare is early education that is organized at a caregiver’s or the child’s own home. The family and the caregiver agree on an approximately eight-hour daily shift for the caregiver.
Open daycare operates together with the open music school and offers directed activities for children who don’t attend other early education programs. Parents who want their children to attend open daycare don’t need to apply for positions.
