In Toholampi, one can continue to general upper secondary school after basic education. Depending on the pace of the student, the studies take approx. 2-4 years. At the completion of general upper secondary school studies, students take the Finnish national matriculation examination.
There are currently about 100 students at Toholampi general upper secondary school. General upper secondary education provides students with extensive general knowledge and the readiness to begin studies at a university, university of applied sciences or vocational training. Adults can also participate in general upper secondary education.
